Have you ever wondered about the mysteries of life, whether there
is a God or not and if there isn't a God then what is the meaning, the purpose for your very existence? How did we humans
come to be? How did the universe come into existence from nothing? Did the Big Bang happen out of sheer nothingness that created
little molecules and atoms or did the molecules and atoms exist before the Big Bang and if so, from where did they originate?
And thus began a chain of events now widely taught, as if it is gospel, that man evolved from an ape?
Why did this
evolution process end at man and not continue into something, say half human and half something else? And if man evolved from
a single cell, for what purpose did he come into existence? Is it so that he can live and enjoy this present life and work
for the riches of this world, only to perish after three score and ten years of his life, to be reduced to nothing but a handful
of dust and ashes? To have all that he worked, lived and believed in and died for, to perish after him?
And if there
is a God, and I know there is, does that make the answer to life's mysteries easier? Easier to accept - easier to believe?
You be the judge.
Maybe you are an agnostic. You believe that there is a God but it is impossible to know Him. Hey,
you would be right except for one thing. An almighty, all knowing, ever present God has the capacity to reveal Himself (His
Nature and Character) and communicate His will to His creatures. If He couldn't then He wouldn't be Almighty, would He? So
that theory is just that - a theory. God reveals Himself in endless ways, though His creation, through His Word, through inspiration,
through His people. God has and does speak to us through His prophets. He speaks through them - even in the first person.
Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man glory [boast] in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory [boast] in his
might, nor let the rich man glory [boast] in his riches; but let him who glories [boasts], glory [boast] in this, that he
understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, exercising loving kindness, judgment and righteousness
in the earth. For in these I delight, says the LORD (Jer. 10:23-24)." Yes! He actually speaks and according to Him, it is
not only possible to know Him, but to understand Him as well. So you and I would be without excuse when we come face to face
with Him, as we inevitably must. If you do not know and understand the LORD, something is
amiss.
There is only one written account in existence that tells us where we came from. How we were made, why we are
here, how we are supposed to live, why we do not live the way we ought to, how we can live the way we should, where we are
going and what will happen at the end of it all. From beginning to end. It is NOT a mystery, to the one who believes but to
the one who doubts, it is foolishness. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who
are being saved it is the power of God (1 Cor. 1:18). Which one are you?
The Bible answers the question about evolution,
the beginning of time, the creation of the universe and the existence of a God in one single and very simple sentence. The
Book opens with this very simple sentence, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," (Genesis 1:1). Very simplistic,
isn't it? So simple, even a child can understand, yet the intellectual skeptic cannot understand. No he is too smart, too
educated, too sophisticated, too blinded by his own wisdom. For it is written: "I (God speaking in the first person) will
destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
What God says He will do,
He does and does it so effectively that the sophisticated and blinded fool has remained so throughout the history of mankind.
The Bible does not try to convince anyone that it is telling the truth, nor does it force anyone to believe what it says.
It simply tells it like it is. It gives the facts and leaves you and me to deal with it. The Bible makes no excuses or apologies
for what it says, it simple tells it like it is and the uncomfortable reader is left to grapple with the reality of the information.
Many, many people have walked away even more confused than when they began to read that Book. Still, many, many people have
read it and understood it and believed it and their lives have never been the same again.
The following testimony
is just a crude attempt to tell anyone who is willing to listen, that there is a God and that He does communicate with His
creatures. That He has a Plan and a Purpose, and that no one or nothing will thwart His Plan and His Purpose. This is the
account of God's working in the life of one of His creatures.
May it spur you on to KNOW Him by faith.
